ABOUT SOMEBODY TO PEN

Our founder, Kylee Kosoff, created Somebody to Pen because she wished a resource like this had existed for her younger self, and for anyone else with a dream to write and publish a book but needed a little extra support. So many aspiring writers have the heart and vision, but figuring out the next step can be overwhelming.

That’s where Somebody to Pen comes in.

What began as a place to learn from over a hundred interviewed authors has now grown into a creative hub. Here, you can find tools, services, and trusted professionals who can help bring your story to life.

No matter where you are in your writing journey, Somebody to Pen is here to provide support and resources every step of the way.

Current WIP: Sahari

Sahari by Kylee Kosoff

Sahari is a sci-fi epic fantasy inspired by Dune and Star Wars. Halfway through Dune: Part Two, I had a sinking feeling that I’d seen this film before. Just like Anakin and Padmé, Paul and Chani were doomed! After the credits rolled, I looked it up. Spoiler: Chani dies. I was furious. Padmé and Chani are two of my favorite heroines, yet both were ultimately sidelined in stories that were supposed to belong to them as much as to the men they loved. So, I asked myself: What if, this time, the love interest saved the chosen one?

“No two planets were ever more distinct than Obsithia and Sahari—one bathed in eternal darkness, the other in unyielding light. On Obsithia, there was no dawn, no stars—only endless night, as if the entire planet lay drowned beneath the depths of Ōkeanos, a world of a thousand oceans.

If there was one thing Nyx understood, it was darkness. He had been born into it, shaped by it, and long ago accepted that it would be all he ever knew. Still, he had heard the whispered songs of the old days, tales of a burned-out sun.”

Across the Cosmos, a world of relentless sun and shifting sands burned bright: Sahari. This is where Elysia Lightbringer and Nyx Shadowcaster collide, altering not just the course of both their lives but all of the Cosmos. Elysia is a lowly priestess with a dangerous secret—she’s godtouched, marked by a divine power her people fear as much as they revere.

Everything changes when the tyrant-king Varikar declares that whichever of his countless children conquers Sahari will become his heir. The Obsithian invasion shatters Elysia’s life, and in the chaos of her temple’s fall, she’s taken captive by Nyx.

When Nyx is betrayed and forced to flee, Elysia escapes. To survive the burning suns and perilous journey across the sands of Sahari, Nyx and Elysia will have to learn to trust each other—whether they want to or not.

    Somebody to Pen’s Team

    Kylee Kosoff

Hi, I’m Kylee Kosoff. I started writing when I was six years old because I had a speech deficit. Writing literally gave me my voice back! When I was fifteen, I started writing my first novel, but I still had a lot to learn.

A decade later, I’m working on my debut novel, a sci-fi, epic fantasy inspired by Dune and Star Wars.  I also serve as the founder of Somebody to Pen, where I’m the main interviewer, editor, and formatter.

I know from my own writing journey how invaluable the support of friends and other creatives has been. No one should create alone, and I hope Somebody to Pen brings you a sense of community and connection.

    PirateCoreArt

Heya! I go by a lot of different names, but at the end of the day, I’m an artist and an author first and foremost.

As both a casual writer (hopefully a professional writer, one day) and an artist, storytelling is at the core of who I am. For me, it’s the merging of story and art that’s close to my soul.

Helping other people show their worlds, whether it’s fantasy, modern romance, horror, or something else entirely, brings me joy.

I love working collaboratively with others, and I’m excited to see what we can do together.

    Collaboration

At Somebody to Pen, we believe great books are never made alone.

Our collaborators are trusted professionals in publishing and creative spaces: editors, artists, graphic designers, publishers, personal assistants, and more.

We feature creatives we trust and admire below, whether they partner with us directly through our services or send authors our way to interview. Each logo is linked to a website, social media platform, or portfolio, so you can connect with them.

Collaborators are independent creatives. Somebody to Pen is not responsible for individual experiences, but if an issue arises, please reach out to us, so we can look into it.

If you’d like to be considered as a collaborator, please contact us with your services, experience, and links to your portfolio or social media.
